Product Features and Suitable Substrates
- Suitable substrates: Steel plates, galvanized sheets, fiberglass, and surfaces with existing paint layers
- Lightweight alloy putty is one of the adhesives with the best bonding performance on galvanized steel sheets, making it suitable for various metal substrates that include galvanized steel.
- Compared to conventional alloy putty, it is lighter in weight, has a larger volume, and offers a wider coating surface area.
Construction Instructions
- Sand the substrate ready for puttying, removing grease and moisture.
- Thoroughly mix the putty with the hardener until the color is evenly consistent.
- Quickly level after mixing within the workable time.
- After applying and scraping, allow it to harden before sanding.
- Thoroughly remove rust flakes, oil stains, old paint films, and moisture from the metal surface using solvents and a polishing tool, ensuring the substrate remains clean and completely dry before coating.
- Mix the putty and hardener at a weight ratio of 100:2 until thoroughly combined (ensuring a uniform color), and use the mixture within its gel time—typically ranging from 2 to 5 minutes for most putties. Keep in mind that the colder the temperature, the more hardener you’ll need to add; however, the hardener should generally not exceed a ratio of 100:3.
- Use a spatula to apply the prepared putty onto the sanded two-component primer or the pre-treated, cleaned metal surface. If a thicker layer is required, apply multiple thin coats, building up to the desired thickness gradually. If air bubbles appear during application, firmly press and smooth the putty as you spread it, ensuring strong adhesion between the putty and the surface.
- Generally, the optimal wet-grinding time is 15–25 minutes after application (note that after water-based sanding, the surface must be completely dry before painting). For dry-grinding, the best timing is between 25 and 35 minutes. Once sanding is complete, simply remove any surface dust before proceeding with subsequent steps such as applying the mid-coat, topcoat, or clear coat finish.
Important Notes
- Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat and ignition sources, and protect from direct sunlight.
- If bubbles seep in during application, use a scraper to smooth it out thoroughly, ensuring excellent adhesion.
- If a thick coat is needed, apply multiple thin layers until the desired thickness is achieved.
- Unused putty and hardener must be stored tightly sealed; putty mixed with hardener should not be returned to its original container.
- Storage duration: 12 months.

Our strengths
The company boasts a dedicated, in-house R&D team and currently holds multiple invention and utility model patents. In 2012, the company played a key role in drafting the industry standard HG/T 4561-2013, "Unsaturated Polyester Putty." Additionally, in 2021, it contributed to the development of a national standard—GB/T 41953-2022, "Paints and Varnishes—Determination of Moisture Content in Coatings by Gas Chromatography"—as well as the revision of another national standard: GB/T 6739, "Paints and Varnishes—Determination of Film Hardness by Pencil Method." In the coming years, the company plans to actively collaborate with several universities and research institutions through industry-academia partnerships, fostering innovation and co-developing cutting-edge products tailored to meet both customer needs and market demands. At the same time, we will continue strengthening our intellectual property strategy, with an ongoing focus on applying for and securing recognition for advanced technology projects. This includes pursuing certifications such as National High-Tech Enterprise status, Zhaoqing City High-Tech Enterprise designation, Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center accreditation, and Zhaoqing City Engineering Technology Research Center certification, among others.
